"Counselling changed my life—now I use it to support others."
Taking the first step towards support can feel daunting, especially when things seem too much to handle alone. I offer a calm and compassionate space where you can talk openly and begin to make sense of what you're experiencing.
Growing up in the north of Ireland, I was always curious about what shapes our sense of identity — and how we repair ruptures within relationships and within ourselves.
This curiosity led me to study Social Psychology and to spend over twenty years working within statutory services, supporting people experiencing neurodiversity, physical and mental health challenges, and those who have survived abuse and neglect. Through this work, I developed the competence and confidence to provide a safe, grounded space for people who may previously have felt anything but safe.
When I experienced bereavement and a significant change in my own life, I turned to counselling and discovered first-hand the profound difference it can make. That experience inspired me to retrain as a counsellor, beginning a three-year journey of both professional and personal growth.
Since then, I have worked in community and university counselling settings, supporting people from all walks of life through challenges such as addiction, identity, gender and sexuality, control, bereavement, overwhelm, chronic shame, and long-held beliefs of being "not enough" or "too much." My hope is that clients leave our sessions feeling a little lighter, with greater compassion for themselves, and with more clarity around their own patterns and internalised beliefs that influence everyday life.
